Capital Farm Credit hosts national Farm Credit next generation conference
Capital Farm Credit, in collaboration with the Farm Credit Council (FCC), recently hosted Farm Credit’s Young, Beginning and Small (YBS) Conference in Bryan-College Station, Texas.
The Farm Credit System spans nationally across the United States with more than 50 associations serving agriculture and rural communities throughout the country. Attendees from different associations congregated in Texas for this year’s educational conference, ready to receive cutting edge information impacting next generation producers.
“Hosting this year’s conference was an honor,” said Jeff Norte, Capital Farm Credit chief executive officer. “We have been blessed with a new facility to host extended members of our Farm Credit family and greatly understand the critical role next generation producers play in the future of agriculture. We gather in hopes of discovering new ways to continue serving this audience, fully aware that we can be the difference young producers need to achieve success in their overall operations and longevity.”
"The mission of the Farm Credit System plays a significant role in shaping the future of the agricultural industry," said Anne Thompson, Farm Credit Council's vice president of YBS farmer programs and industry outreach. "The opportunity to collaborate on how to best position young and beginning producers for success helps us advance our mission."
Conference attendees heard from various agriculture producers and industry leaders in legislation and policy while getting to enjoy Texan hospitality in the Bryan-College Station community.
“Getting to collaborate with colleagues from across the country is beneficial for each of our organizations,” said Phil Peabody, Capital Farm Credit chief lending officer. “We are all united under the same mission. When we come together to enhance our objectives for the next generation, many valuable outcomes are achieved.”
