Crop Fire Insurance

Crop Fire Insurance is extra insurance for direct crop loss caused by fire or lightning. Crops are covered before harvest or while the crop is still in the harvester. Coverage includes:

• Spot-fire losses are paid on a per-acre basis
• Covers some types of fires that federal crop insurance does not cover
• If loss is covered by federal crop insurance, Crop Fire may pay an additional indemnity

Crop Fire policies can be used as a supplement to Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) or Crop Hail coverage, or as a stand-alone policy. 

Crop Fire policies are provided directly to farmers by private insurance.
