McLemore appointed to CFC's Board of Directors for South Texas

Capital Farm Credit is pleased to announce the appointment of Zachary McLemore of Harlingen, Texas, to Capital Farm Credit’s Board of Directors, serving Region 7, South Texas.

The Association began its special appointment search to fill the Region 7 open seat in December 2024. McLemore accepted his current position with Texas’ largest agriculture lender and assumed board responsibilities effective, January 22, 2025.

“We took great consideration in finding the ideal candidate to welcome to the board,” said John Malazzo, board chairman of the Capital Farm Credit Board of Directors. “As a member-owned cooperative, our stockholders have a voice in our business and impact how we steward decision-making of the Association.”

McLemore, along with his wife, own and operate a 7200-acre irrigated row crop farm in Cameron County, Texas. In addition to agriculture production, they also own and operate Regal AG, a commercial grain elevator, farm store and seed dealer. McLemore has served in multiple director roles with other ag cooperatives, understanding the organizations’ business model and dedication to its customers.

“During my career, I have been blessed with the unwavering support of my community that has allowed me to grow in agribusiness and further understand new ways to support producers,” said McLemore. “I am excited and honored to offer my experiences and abilities to ensure the continued success of Capital Farm Credit and its members.”

“Zac comes from an agriculture background with 20 years’ experience as a producer with both management and operational perspectives,” said Jeff Norte, chief executive officer. “He brings leadership and knowledge from his industry career and understands the importance of ground-level relationships from working with growers.”

“We look forward to working with him to further Capital Farm Credit’s mission to be the partner of choice for agriculture lending and success in rural communities.”
